Paul Rogers

Paul Rogers is one of those singer songwriters who never fails to delight audiences where ever he performs his self-penned songs. His song “Cold” was voted runner-up in the Folk and Country UK Songwriting category in 2005, Since that Paul has many more songs written , some of which he performs here.

Where ever Sweet Misery (Geoff and Sue Fry) perform they will always lift up the tempo with their varied and rousing songs. Sweet Misery should not be  mistaken for describing such lovely people who are quite the opposite as a full of fun, who are encouraging and welcoming couple at local folk clubs which include The Oak in Corsham on a Thursday evening.

Bryony McGinty

Bryony is such a gentle and sensitive singer song writer and is a pleasure to listen to when ever she sings. It’s great that she has now recorded her very own CD After All These Years which I’m sure will be the start of many others.

Bryony also sings as a two part harmony as Sally in the Woods with another lovely singer songwriter Sandy Ball.

Ray Bradfield

All I would say about Ray Bradfield is that he is simply the ‘real deal’ . He’s an outstanding songwriter and performer, always encouraging to others, a great teacher of fretted instruments with a vast knowledge and experience. He is a real gentleman and a pleasure to be around. If you haven't seen him perform yet or been taught by him, you have truly missed out.

Rosie and Pete  have  been such an important influence with their valued contribution to the folk scene over many years and have kept alive a great tradition. They are also very involved with the Village Pump Folk club and festival. Interestingly, Cecil Sharp recorded Edwin Clay, who was a friend of Rosie’s grandmother,  singing The Golden Glove.

John Alderslade is  a very talented performer both with instrument/song and of course his famous ‘Punch and Judy’ show which has entertained so many over the years. He, and his team, at the very popular Village Pump club have been responsible for bringing to the area so many top line folk acts and this years Village Pump festival is no exception with such a line-up of artists it would be a festival not to miss!

Blue bell Hornpipe is a traditional 3/2 hornpipe and XYZ by by James Hill

What an absolutely fabulous treat for me to have my own private performance of this stunning group of singers and musicians.

The Yirdbards are Paul Darby; Verity Randall; Patrick Randall and Iona Hassan..

The Yirdbards perform many songs that reflect the Earth and how we should value and enjoy our environment without leaving damaging footprints that impact on others. Their close harmony and musician-ship is so balanced and sensitive it fills your heart and soul with such gladness. Go see them and encourage others to book them at a venue near you!
